On 20 April 2026, Jabalpur Engineering College (JEC) participated in the nationwide “Sundays on Cycle” campaign under the Government of India's Fit India Movement by organizing a cycle rally on its campus in collaboration with the NCC Army Wing (MP & CG Directorate) Training Centre, Jabalpur. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, NCC cadets, faculty members, staff, and cycling enthusiasts, spreading the message of fitness, health, and an active lifestyle.
The programme was organized in response to a call from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and the Fit India Mission, encouraging AICTE-approved institutions across the country to take part in this special initiative. According to the official communication issued by Shri Mayank Srivastava, IPS, Deputy Director General, Sports Authority of India, the “Sundays on Cycle” campaign has grown into a nationwide movement, reaching more than three lakh locations and inspiring over 30 lakh cyclists across India. The April 2026 edition was organized on the theme “Artificial Intelligence for a Smarter and Healthier India”, with AICTE as a special partner

Before the rally commenced, all participants took a pledge to maintain physical fitness and adopt healthy lifestyle practices. The rally was then flagged off, with cyclists riding together to spread awareness about the importance of regular exercise and overall well-being. The event was organised under the guidance of Dr. Rajeev Chandak, Principal, Jabalpur Engineering College, whose continuous encouragement promotes student participation in activities related to health, fitness, and holistic development. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Bhavna Singh, Dr. D.S. Rawat, Prof. M.S. Parte, and Shri Sahadev Rajak, with active support from sports officials, faculty members, and NCC staff.
The cycle rally was more than just a fitness activity; it was a step towards building healthy habits and a positive lifestyle. Through such initiatives, JEC continues to inspire students to stay active, disciplined, and responsible citizens. The enthusiastic participation of the JEC community reflected its commitment to the vision of a fitter, healthier, and stronger India.
