Three-day Annual Sports Fest ‘Aavahan2023’:1 April 2023 to 4 April 2023:-

The three-day Annual Sports Fest ‘Aavahan-2023’, was inaugurated by Shri Ashok Ishwardas Rohani ji, Hon’ble MLA Kent, Jabalpur, on 1 April 2023. The programme was initiated by the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony followed by the rendition of Sarasvati Vandana. Addressing the students, the chief guest emphasised the need to imbibe the qualities of discipline and sportsman spirit and never be disappointed with failure. College Principal Dr P.K Jhinge appealed to the students to takeinterest in both academic pursuits and physical activities fortheir

physical and mental robustness. Former principal Dr Arvind Sharma’s presence on the dais was a source of inspiration and encouragement for the entire student fraternity.” Play and Be Healthy”/“Khelo aur Swastha Raho” was the slogan given to this event by the programme coordinator, Dr Agya Mishra. The stage was meticulously conducted by the co-coordinator, Prof Pradeepti Lakra. The Aavahan Sports Torch, a symbol of peace, friendship and tolerance, was ignited and relayed from one torch bearer to the next by Kunal Kakodia basketball team captain, which won a gold medal for the college and Vaibhav Rajavat winner of a gold medal in Kabaddi. JEC, campus reverberated with the patriotic slogan” Vande Mataram” as 11 balloons representing 10 departments and one in the name of Aavahan were released in the air by the

chief guest, principal and former principal Dr Arvind Sharma. Indeed it was a great tribute to the completion of 75 years of India’s Independence. An air of patriotism engulfed the premises of this illustrious Institution, which has also completed its 75 years. The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks given by Prof. Pradeepti Lakra.

Valedictory Function of Annual Sports Fest ‘Aavahan 2023’: 4 April 2023:-

After three days of intense sports competition from 1st April to 4th April 2023 the valedictory function of Annual Sports Fest ‘Aavahan 2023’ was held on Tuesday 4 April 2023 to felicitate the students for their exemplary performance and zealous participation at the games. The chief guest of the function was JEC Alumni Association chief Shri M.S Gujral and Shri Arvind Mohan Nayak was the guest of honour. This sports fest concluded with a cultural evening. On this day selected students from all the branches dressed in colourful costumes enthralled the audience with their dances and songs. The atmosphere of the college was one of festivity and jubilance. The culmination of the day witnessed loud cheers during the prize distribution ceremony at the hands of the respected dignitaries Shri M.S Gujral, Shri Arvind Mohan Nayak, Dr P.K Jhinge and Dr Arvind Sharma. Trophies, medals and certificates were awarded to all the winners of Inter-department tournaments in 9 disciplines like badminton, football, kho kho, cricket, basketball, athletics etc. Department of Electronics and Telecommunication bagged the overall championship trophy. The second position was secured by Information Technology Department and Mechanical Engineering Department receivedthe third prize. The compering of the event was done by Dr Agya Mishra, HOD, Department of Mechatronicsand latertaken over by the students. The guests appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm of Dr Agya Mishra coordinator of the event, Prof Pradeepti Lakra and Prof D.S Rawat co-coordinators and all the staff members of the collegefor successfully conducting the sports fest.
